01About these terms
These Terms and Conditions are an agreement between you and Local Studio (“we” or “us”). They apply when you create a Local Studio account, try the app, or purchase a license. By purchasing, you confirm that you have read and accept them.
We wrote them in plain language so they’re easy to read. If anything is unclear, contact us before you buy.
02Your license
- A one-time purchase lets you use Local Studio 1 on one Mac at a time, for as long as you like. There is no subscription.
- You can move your license to a different Mac from your account, once every 24 hours.
- Updates to Local Studio 1 are included. Future major versions are optional and may be offered as a paid upgrade.
- Your license is for you or your studio. Please don’t share, resell, or rent it, or try to copy the app, get around its license check, or change its files.
03Free trial
The free 3-day trial lets you explore Local Studio with three sample galleries on your Mac and home network. You sign in with a free Local Studio account to start it; no payment details are needed. Each Mac and each account gets one trial. Uploading your own photos and sharing online require a paid license.
04Price and payment
- The launch special is $99. The regular price will be $149 later on.
- The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, plus any taxes that apply where you live. Taxes are shown before you pay.
- Payments are handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Your license appears in your account as soon as your payment is confirmed.
05Refunds
If Local Studio isn’t right for you, contact us within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund. When a refund is issued, the license is deactivated. Your photos and galleries stay on your Mac.
06Your photos and your clients
- Your photos, videos, galleries, and client information belong to you. Using Local Studio doesn’t give us any rights to them.
- Your library stays on your Mac and the drives you choose. We don’t receive or store it.
- You decide what to share. Please share only work you have the right to share, respect your clients’ privacy, and follow the laws that apply to you.
- Local Studio may not be used to share illegal content or to harm others.
07Services you connect
Online sharing uses your own Cloudflare account. Cloudflare, Apple, Stripe, and your internet provider are separate companies with their own terms. Local Studio is not affiliated with Cloudflare.
As with any important files, keep a backup of your photos. Local Studio includes tools to help you make one.
08Privacy
Our licensing service keeps only what it needs to manage your license: your email, account name, purchases, a coded ID for your Mac, and sign-in history. Crash reports are sent only if you turn them on, and never include your photos or client details. Read the license and privacy summary
09If a license is misused
If a license is shared, resold, bought fraudulently, or used against these terms, we may deactivate it. You can stop using Local Studio at any time. Either way, your photos and files stay on your Mac.
10Our responsibility
We work hard to make Local Studio reliable, and we fix problems with updates. Like most software, Local Studio is provided “as is,” without guarantees that it will meet every need or be free of every error. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as lost business or lost files, and our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Local Studio grows. When we do, we’ll post the new version here with a new date. Your purchase is covered by the version you accepted when you bought.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
